Side pipe & JB Weld

The good news is I found the persistant rattle with my drives side sidepipe.
The bad news is it was a failing weld. :(
The side pipes are from Factory Five & fit nicely on my EM with a set of custom headers. (Needed the headers anyway) The guy who did the headers put a 2nd mounting point on the side pipes becasue the old ones had 2 each.
This setup has worked fine for 2 seasons and over 15,000 miles, although I scrape them on speed bumps etc. Long story short the FF mount has been ripped off the sidepipe taking a rectangled piece of the sp with it.

Now the question.

Will JB weld hold up to the temps of the the inside of the sidepipe?
They are ceramic coated so the outside is fairly cool.
The JB weld website says the stuff is good up to 500 degrees.

The patch would only be to cover the hole, not to support the sp. Cosmetics will not be a problem. You would have to know it was there to find it and the car is a daily driver not a trailer queen.
FYI the sp's are glass packs, you can feel the packing through this new hole.

Would love some input.

Option #1 - Local muffler shop spot welds the hole closed for $20.
Option #2 - Spend $5 on some JB weld and experiment.

At least with option #1 you'll know it's more permanent and has a better chance of working. :)

Dean,
Thanks for the obvious answer. For some reason local muffler shops had not crossed my mind. I feel better going that route. It will be raining here for a few days so I'll get it done right now.
