I have a spring/retainer question
I'm looking at another set of valve springs. I have a new set of retainers in my possession and I'm hoping that they would work with the new springs. Let me run some info by you guys and get your opinions.
The spring I'm wanting to use (Comp 916-16)has a 1.560" outer spring OD. The ID of the inner spring is .890". The ID of the outer spring is 1.125" This retainer I have has a diameter1 (the largest diameter part) of 1.375". The diameter2 (next diameter down) is 1.093". The diameter3 on the retainer (the locating nub)is .688". Will this retainer be ok for this spring or will it allow the spring to move around too much? |
It doesn't sound like they are compatible. I think some of the dimensional sizing is too far off.
