Tachometers

I am new to the site, and am in the process of purchasing my first Cobra and have a question: why in some models does the tach go backwards? I have asked many, but have never received an answer. Anyone know?

There are a lot of people here more educated on Cobra's, however I have only heard of the speedo going backwards not the tack? Good luck..I am sure someone here will have your answer.

I obviously have seen some Cobras with the speedo going backwards also. Never really given a clear cut answer on why that is though. The backwards tach is still a total mystery to me. Any help with this would make for good "bar stool trivia" for me.

Speedo backwards .... that's the way the British manufacturer made them in the 60's. Why? I do not know.

Never saw a backwards tach.
