ERA quick release hub

I posted this in another forum before finding this one and thought that this forum might get more/quicker responses. ERA is presently completing my 289FIA for delivery in the next 4-6 weeks (hopefully) and was considering purchasing the ERA quick release steering wheel hub. After getting in and out of a couple of Cobras I thought the Q-R wheel might make entry/exit a bit easier as well as adding a bit of theft deterrence. Have any other ERA owners purchased this option? If so what do you think of it? Anybodyelse got any thoughts or suggestions on this?

I have it on my ERA 427 and I love it! It is well worth the money!

I agree. I have it on my car as well. Also makes it easier to get under the dash on the drivers side.

Retro-fitted it to my FIA (2080). Makes entry and exit a lot easier especially with the top on.

The quick-release system fits within what looks like an original hub, with two notches at the base. Very subtle, visually.

Bob how much modification would it take to fit this on my car with the old style column? How much does the quick-release systom cost.

I'm always looking for a fun winter project.

Current price for the hub I believe is $850. You should check with Peter P at ERA to determine for sure what you'd have to do to retrofit an older column.
