T56 on a Cleveland
Fellow Cobra owners, I am about to secure a T56, 6 Speed for my Boss 351 ( Cleveland ) Cobra and am wondering if anyone has this setup.
I would like any information on what you had to do to make the T56 work behind a Cleveland. If you have part numbers, that would very helpful. I have room ( I think ) but I was wondering about things like the starter and the fork in addition to the flywheel, pressure plate and clutch. ANY information would be welcomed. :D |
A Cleveland is a standard Windsor boly pattern, so if they make an adapter for a T-56 to a Windsor, you're good.
Call Mike Forte at Forte's Parts Connection. He specializes in all that stuff. I got a T-56 to FE adapter from him when I was doing my FFR. |
Tru,
I got my blowproof bellhousing from David Kee,along with the Street Twin clutch. Both McLeod. |
I have a T-56 behind my Clevor. Mine if the one form the Ford Racing Catalog. I think it is Model Number M-7003-G. It comes with a cast bellhousing that bolts up directly to the Windsor (and Cleveland??) block. I had to swap over to the smaller flywheel, new clutch, etc. The larger sized flywheel is to big for the bellhousing.
This version of the T-56 comes with the mechanical drive speedo output which may be helpful if you have a mechanical speedo. Most all T-56s only come with the Electronic Speedometer drive. |
