Tires for Superformance Roadster

I plan to stay with the 15" wheels that came on the car, I realize there is not alot of choices out there but I still like the look of the car with the 15" wheels & tires. Presently have BFG T/A's, never have really been able to get them balanced properly?, always get some shimy. Planning to go with the
255/60R15 front and either 275/60R15 or 295/60R15 for the rear. I understand Nitto now makes the 275/60R15, but nothing for the front. I'm hearing from several sources that have tried various 15" tires that the Yokohama tires perform and balance well and are reasonably inexpensive. White letter tires are not important to me. Mostly street usage with some minor track time. Tread wear is not a huge issue either as I probaby only put on 2,000-3,000 miles per year. Handling/Traction would be important although
I know what's out there in 15" sizes is limited. I would welcome and appreciate any suggestions you have.
Thanks in Advance

Installed a set of avid st this afternoon. 235-60-15 and 295-50-15, balance was good, testing to continue, slightly damp up here today.

Get the yokos! They reduced my shimmy a lot.

The BFGs balance, the problem is they are not round. Even a square tire will balance.

Check out Avon, they are producing a line of 15" tires intended or Cobras and Gt 40s.

My local SPF dealer highly recommends the Yokohamas, if you do not care about the "correct" look.

Thanks for the reply. What sizes of the Yokohamas did you end up putting on your SPF?

i have the avids on my spf #1837. they grip real well and run smooth. there is another thread that covers this as well. i found out that nitto now makes a drag radial in 315 by 15. my car has the 255 front and 295 rear avids. i highly recommend them. they came with my car from dynamic.

245-60-15 front, 275-60-15 rear (85 inch circumference).

Cooper tires

I don't see any Avon tires in the sizes - 255/60/15/ & 275/60/15 ?? don't know what you're looking at but I've used the Goodyear GTII -- look good on the car but they suck for handling & traction. Currently using the Yokohama Avid - they are better. I just did a search and there are Copper tires - "Cobra GT"'s in the right size but I know nothing about this tire on our cars. Anyone care to comment on the Cooper tire.
