Venting Gas Tank
NOW MY GAS TANK IS VENTED WITH A TUBE FROM THE TOP OF TANK UP ABOUT A FOOT THEN TURNS DOWNS AND EXITS IN FRONT OF REAR TIRE.
I HAVE TO CAP OFF THE VENT TUBE WHEN I RETURN FROM A RIDE TO AVOIDS THE FLUMES IN THE GARAGE. IF I PUT THE VENT TUBE INSIDE THE FILLER NECK THE TANK CAN'T VENT AND THE ENGINE WILL STOP. MY QUESTION IN WHERE AND HOW DO YOU VENT THE TANK ?AND ALSO KEEP THE OVERFLOW GAS FROM SPILLING OUT ON THE GROUND IT CAN HAPPEN SOMETIMES:confused: THE CAR HAS A LEMANS FLIP LIP |
If you have a LEMANS cap it should open the spring vent when you close it!
I have my tank vented into my fill line 2" from the cap. and it works to shut off the gas fill hose handle. |
