Want to paint over white wall letters
I've decided to paint over the white letters on my tires. What is the best product for doing this? I don't want to turn the tires around.
Thanks in advance.

He probably doesn't want to see the white letters on the back side when looking under the car or at the car from a distance.

If you are talking about brightening up the white letters. I would agree that a fabric pen is the best way.

Bob I have found that a product called Plasti-dip spray works very well. My friend has a street rod that he removed all lettering on all the tires by sanding the side walls and exposing lots of white. The Plasti-dip spray has been on for over a year and looks like its just been armoralled. I have seen for sale at Home depot and some local parts stores.

Permanent Marker
Permanent markers work pretty well especially if the lettering is inside. On the outside it might require touchup every six months on a daily driver. The swab that comes in a bottle of leather boot dye works very well too. For the fine stuff dip something smaller in the bottle. It is usually by Esquire and in the shoe polish lane at the supermarket.

I was told by Competition East to use Brake Cleaner to remove the white paint. I do not know if this will work or if the procedure causes any problems. Just relating what I was told. You may want to call a manufacturer or wholesaler with your question. I don't believe painting over the white will work well.

The white letters are literally 'painted' on, so it would seem a number of products would work to 'wash them off'. Alcohol and a 3M pad maybe? After there removed use some kind of 'tire black' product on the sidewall.
