A-arm question

Installing a new set of upper a-arms, that have the nuts on the ends of the cross bolt that is attached to the chasis. If I recall, you are supposed to tighten these so as to load the upper arms. When they are tightened, they lock the arm to the press fit rubber bushing in the arms.

I can' recall whether these get tightened when the car is sitting level. Does anybody know of what position the arms need to be in when these are tightened up? Thanks.

Tighten the nuts when the car (on it's suspension) is at normal ride level. That means that normally there will be no bushing preload.
