Silly question like all to answer

Who? what? where?, when it comes to placement of the radiator how many can remove the radiator with the body of the car on. There seams to be a lot of different styles of mounting and some who get really upset with not original looking. But is there any reasoning for one way being better than any others. I don't have a lot of space and making the radiator removable with the body on will be really hard as well as funny looking. Opinions please. Patrick

Mine is easily removable but the car has to be jacked up as high as possible for clearance(since I don't have a lift) then I unbolt two upper mounts, lift up an inch or so and then shift one end forward, tilt a bit and out it comes. My radiator sits upright (not pc for purists:LOL: )but it keeps the engine cool and is easy to remove if necessary.

Radiator

I can jack my car up and remove it from the bottom.

Two clamps and four bolts and it is out.

I made two adjustable brackets that are bolted on the frame. A threaded rod goes through the brackets with nuts on both ends. I just take one nut loose, and the bracket spreads apart. Kind of like a screw jack. Then I can remove the radiator with the body & hood on. Make it a lot easier. If I can get a close enough photo, I'll post it.

two brackets, two screws, disconnect the overflow and it's out. No jacking up required...Lonestar LS427

OK, I'll answer your question with one. How often are you planning on having the thing out??? After 10 years and 55,000 miles mine is still sitting right were I put it when I put the car together. I have flushed the system once and I'm due for another one this spring.

Now for your answer. Mine is in a bracket. the bracket is bolted between the frame rails. The whole assembley would come out through the bottom.

Ya ,well thats what I'm wondering? removal from the bottom with my chassis will be a no go for the radiator is wider than the frame rails and other bits. and getting out the top will be, well let's just say square peg, round hole. So here we stand will I need to remove it , I hope NO, would it be possible MAYBE. Just looking at several of the kits out there some appear to be in my predicament and was hoping to find others who have their cooling system between a rock and a hard place as well. Patrick

You can look in my gallery. I made a minor change to my hood. Removal no problem. My car is not PC but I like it anyway.:3DSMILE:
