Where to buy weather resistant wiring plugs
Whoever wired my car did a really sloppy job. My headlight and marker light assemblies have three wires coming each light. Right now each wire has been cut, I assume to facilitate removal of the light assemblies from the car. That's fine with me, but they reattached the wires with these poor quality crimp on individual wire snap type connectors. I'd like to redo this by attaching the wires, all three at a time for each light assembly, with a weather resistant 3 wire plug. Question is where do I find one? The auto parts stores around here have gone down the tubes, all are on par with PepBoys - just really shoddy low cost junk. Any ideas where I could mail order good quality plugs? Thanks.

http://www.waytekwire.com/ Look up multi pin connectors ,then Packard Weatherpack. Most every town has at least one good jobber parts house that should carry the Weather pack style. Use a little di-electric grease on assembly. I would think that the hotrod wire shops like Painless and American Wire and others would carry these as well. |

These are a very high quality waterproof connector that is available at all MSD dealers, and I am sure other sources too. MSD sells it because of the quality.

You can get the Deutsch connectors at any Harley Dealer......
They are used on Harley's....and work very good....and easy to assemble... Morris |

I bought a Weatherpak kit off of Ebay. Pretty simple and had enough connectors of each type to do the headlights, marker lights, and tail lights with a few extra. Comes with all the seals, male and female ends, and some plugs in case you don't use all the holes in the connector.
DOES NOT come with muscle cream to ease the cramped hand from trying to crimp the connector to the wire by hand without the $100 "weatherpak" tool... :) |

I used heat swrink on all my out side wires, then put them in a plastic loom for looks, you can buy the loom at any autoparts store and the heat swrink at any electronics supply store, I use a heat gun made for heat swrink
