M II front coilovers question

I have a Mustang II front end. I am switching over to tubular upper and lower A-arms. I am also going to adjustable coil-overs. I have seen coil-overs that are specifically designed for Mustang II's The upper mount for the coil is the stock spring mounting position (not attached to the shock). Have any of you used this setup? Are there advantages or disadvatages to using the Mustang II specific shock vs. a universal coil-over?
Thanks

I think the setup in question is quite short by nature due to required installed length.

I use QA-1 coilovers on my MII suspension w/ tubular A-arms. works fine for my car. I used the A-arms available from Speedway Motors for use with coil overs and it allows adjustment for tuning the suspension for ride height and comfort from very stiff to a slightly more comfortable cruising feel. Hope this helps

I am using that set up now. I have a 427 FE Iron block with alum heads so my frt end is heavier than most small blocks. I run the Carrera progressive coil over springs in the front (600# Springs). They are only 10" long but they work very well on the track and in city and freeway driving.

Email me if you have any specific questions I might answer.
