Autometer Gauge Problem

I have the Autometer Cobra replica gauges and have a problem both on my Fuel and Tach gauge. The Tach currently runs directly from my MSD 6AL and steadies at 2krpm, and no lower. It will raise but will not drop lower then 2k. MSD says I can check the output voltage from the 6AL to insure it is between 1-5 VDC for the tach, and it is. Any thing else? Also, fuel sender checks out fine, but fuel gauge does not function. The needle moves when power up the ignition, so it is getting power and sensing something. Fairly simple set up, sender, voltage thats it. The float within the tank on the sender and its movement is set up correctly.

Is there anything else would cause a problem or do I need to send these both back to Autometer for repair?

Correct sender for gauge?

Xavier For the fuel gauge check and make sure you have the correct sender in the tank for the gauge. There are 2 senders, one goes from low to high ohms, the other goes from high to low ohms. Your sender could be stuck on something in the gas tank and you would have only a sweep test and no correct reading. For the tach problem send the unit back to MSD and say there is no signal from the box. Start there. You didnot say which system you are using on the motor, you may need an adapter kit for the Tach from MSD for autometer. Rick Lake
