Temp Question
Running a 351W. Replaced my upper and lower radiator hoses with flexible stainless steel hoses. Added an expansion tank. Used the same 180 thermostat. And the temperature will not go above 140. The car used to run at 180-190 range. Is there something I am missing or am I concerned over nothing?? Any and all insight is welcome. Thanks!

Keep checking the coolant level. It's probably low and the temp sender might be in an air pocket, resulting in the low reading.

I appreciate your help. I wonder if the thermostat slipped a little when I attached the expansion tank. If the low temp continues, I will remove the tank and reposition the thermostat to see if that makes a difference. Thanks, Again

The thermostat may be involved. But if your current thermostat doesn't have a small hole in its't permitter you chould make a hole or change to a new thermostat that does . The thermostat is placed so that the hole is at the highest point. It will let air out while filling, and will let some coolant circulate past the thermostat during normal operation. A small hole is present in many of the new thermostats. The coolant flow the small hole will allow is not appreciable. Either you have some trapped air in your system or you slipped the thermostat. You could be reading the air tempreture, if you have trapped air. You want a solid flow of liquid and no air.
