anybody try pvc fuel tank slosh fix?

read on the racing forum somewhere where guys are removing the foam and replacing with pvc pipe, say 4", jammed in tank from top to bottom with fuel feed tube in center with holes drilled in pipe to control fuel slosh. seems to be working and am thinking about trying. just don't know which size holes to drill. some were using pipe with holes already drilled ala lateral lines. any thoughts?

What is the benifit to removing foam? The PVC pipe will not break down but it doesremove all weight Xfer from slosh that I think would increase if removed to go to a baffle from pipe only.

Pipe would be cheaper if you are faced with foam purchase or replacement but if it is good and already there? if it aint broke !

you have a good point there. i didn't use the pipe because of the difficulty of replacement. did discover the hose was about an inch above tank floor so made an extension.
