Wiper motor

I bought two wiper motors, one is spare. There the early MGB/Triumph type with the wrapped cable in aluminum tube. I didn't hook up the switch because the wires from the motor are loose, about 5-6. Anyone know which wire does what?, I have a three way toggle switch for up-hi speed, down-low speed and middle off.

Thanks

I've been down this road before. Sorry I do not remember all the particulars. But if you do a search you will get all the pictures, wiring diagrams, explanations, and options I was given. It was great help. I used the Lucas switch and it all worked as advertized. FinishLine had a plug for the motor electrical but the snap in wire terminals had to be had elsewhere . You'll find it all there when you do the search and read. Lots aof printing.

Here's what you need- http://www.kirkhammotorsports.com/ma...permotor.shtml

I think the different years have different wiring colors. However, if you follow the wiring pattern on the motor connection, you should be able to hook it up. I just checked mine and it was correct.
You will probably have to buy the proper Lucas switch if you want your wipers to park.

Here is a schematic that came with the wiper switch from Finish Line. Just remember that the top post that is perpendicular to the other four is negative and you can easily figure out the rest of the wires. I used a standard 2 way switch (without a park) rather than the one from Finish Line because the one from finish line was about 14mm rather than ˝ inch and did not want to risk enlarging the hole in the finished padded dash. With the two way switch it takes a couple of tries to get the windshield wipers parked in the proper position but the car has never been caught in a rain so it probably doesn’t matter much. Before I put the either switch in, I “bench wired” the wiper motor with both switches. Both worked fine.

It is pretty straight forward. If this is not enough, let me know. Rick

Oops! It did not come through. If you would like, I’ll email it to you.
