Mine's on the front. That's the location to put it on. The fronts typically will see more pressure (depending how your balance beam's adjusted) than the rears.

The shop that I had install my brake system put in the low pressure inline switch on the rear after the wilwood adjustable purportioning valve. Thats probably why I have to have so much pressure on my brake pedal to get the brake lights to come on. I think I will change to the electrical one that installs on the brake pedal bracket.

The nice thing about the mechanical switches is that they never fail (very common with the hydraulic) and if you want to signal the guy behind you to get off your azz, you don't have to actually apply the brakes to turn your brake lights on.

Motor cycles use a switch that pulls with a spring which would be easy to adapt to any pedal configuration.
