competition windshield attachment
would like to be able to attach a small comp windshield and be able to remove it and replace with full size windscreen. looked and didn't see any ideas on the forum so what are you guys using?
i'm thinking some kind of insert into the fiberglass so bolts can be used to hold it on. i have the rivnuts but think they would tear the fiberglass up. any help appreciated. |
On my FFR Spec Racer that was also street legal. I marked where the stock windshield rubber met the fiberglass body. I then positioned my rivet nuts into the fiberglass area that was covered by the windshield rubber. All but one of the rivet nuts was covered up when the stock windshield was installed. My car was white and I covered the one exposed rivet nut with a small piece of white vinyl tape when the stock windshield was installed. You couldn't see the rivet nut unless you looked very closely.

that is what i was looking to do. what type fasteners were used for the comp windshield?
