Fan relay harness...
Installing a Spal fan relay harness. Not by any stretch an electrician. Have one question. According to the directions the red attaches to the fan positive wire. Looking at the wiring that I have, it is a ford pig tail with 3 wires coming from the fan to a connector. A black wire, looks to be a brown wire with a red stripe and another brown wire with a yellow stripe. Which wire would be considered the positive wire? The red striped or yellow striped? Both lit my tester light when the key was turned on. The fan does not have any name or markings on it. And it is a puller fan. Thanks!!!!!!!!

I did some research. Since the fan does not have any markings to determine what type of fan I am using. The obvious give away is the Ford pig tail. Having 3 wires from the fan and the 2 colored wires tells me that I have a 2 speed fan. I then determined that the Low speed was brown with a red/orange stripe and the high speed was the brown with a yellow stripe. Now, which speed to choose when installing the Spal Fan Relay Harness? Which would you use? This fan must be from a Taurus. Thanks!!!!
