SPF Signal Lights Don't Blink
Hey Guys:
Just got in from a nice ride through the country. While I was out the signal lights on both sides of the car stopped working. All the lights light but they won't blink (either side). Where's the gizmo that makes them blink? Is this a replacement item? Are they easy to replace? Bob |
Bob,
The turn signal flasher should be under the dash, usually just to the right of the steering column. It is a conventional signal flasher, looks like a small cylinder. The flasher is usually mounted in a bracket. Many times, the bracket will squeeze the flasher just enough over time, and it won't work. I removed my flasher from the braket, and tucked in up in the wire harness. If need be, you can get a replacement flasher at just about any auto parts store. Jim Kellogg Breesport, NY |

Mine is on the top left corner of the pull down panel under the dash. Tony |
Here it is, I put a square around it and it just sits in that clip :3DSMILE:

Very common SPF problem. Clip is too strong. Crushes or cracks plastic housing.

Thanks for the help Guys!
My directionals haven't worked for several years now, and I thought it was the switch. Just too lazy to get in there and mess with trying to replace it. I've been using the old fashion "Hand Signals" for my turns - I wounder if half the drivers knew what I was doing!
Thanks for the pix Velox; that and the comments make this job way too easy! This is what makes Club Cobra so GREAT!! I LOVE YOU GUYS! :) TL :MECOOL: |
Bob,
My flasher also ended up with a craked case and turn signals not working. When you install the new flasher, spread the clamp arms that hold it, apart a little more so they put less pressure on it. Dont know why they dont make metal case flashers instead of plastic case ones. |
