'42 Chevy Truck
A friend is selling his 1942 Chevy ton& a-half truck(I-6/stick).He asked me what it's worth.I haven't a clue about antique trucks.Anyone have a idea?

seems weird bill, i used to own a 41 chevy stake 1 1\2 ton. the 1941 and the 1946 were the same truck, production was supposedly shut down for the war effort. a 1942? unless its a military vehicle it is weird.

I said the same thing. Two possiblities:
1)Real EARLY 42 production.
2)I'm told that if you claimed hardship(such as you needed a truck to deliver wood for the war effort)you could get one built.

is it restored or just a survivor? what bed is on it? my favorite memory of mine was when i downshifted on a hill and accidentally hit creeper gear, well that was the highest wheelie i ever pulled, at least 2 feet. couldn't kill that truck.
in upkeep alone he probably has more in the truck than its worth. i would bet you would need an attorney on retainer just to get the tires changed. 2 piece rims are not for the faint hearted.

It's a survivor.It does run,but needs a clutch.It has a 5th wheel set-up.
