Windshield Glass and Frame Supplier Info Needed
I thought this would be straight forward but its not. Can you all give me feedback on who supplies the W/S glass and W/S frames for your Cobras? I am trying to find someone who knows the source of the glass and or the frames. There cannot be more than 1 or 2 sources here in the US that everyone buys from. If someone has the NAGS part numbers for the W/S glass that are used for Cobras that would be a start. I would expect the W/S frames are from a popular English car from the 60's besides AC of course.
I am also interested to hear the route the scratch builders took for sourcing the mentioned parts. Thanks |

I got mine from Shell Valley. They have glass and glass+frame and mounting posts.
Edit: I didn't see the reply (stepped away with the window open). International Wholesale is Shell Valley. |
I found mine on ebay.

Shell Valley (International Wholesale) or Finish Line provides most windshields.

Thanks guys, I will talk to SV/ IW to get dimensions. I contacted Finshline and they dont have any windshields at the moment.
Does anyone know the differences between W/S assemblies marked "DOMESTIC" versus "ENGLISH" ? Is the Cobra glass size unique and does this mean no other Import English car glass is a perfect fit as far as we know ? |
From what I understand I think the dimensions are the same. However, the difference may be in the frame (alum vs. brass). There is another source for windshields that I forgot to mention, Reg Dodd with Backdraft may be able to help you with an order. He is in So. Florida.

I am a distributor for IW. I sell the frames and glass and will make you an excellent deal on each or a set.

SPF windshield
I don't know what frame the SPF use. This is a 2009 thread. Go to the SPF forum and someone should be able to answer your question.
Superformance - Club Cobra I bought my glass from Bethania last summer. Dwight Snake Doctor - AC/Shelby Cobra Parts - Windshields If you need the glass replaced just order it but get a windshield shop to install it. The rubber gasket that is shipped with the windshield is not the best. They have glass mastic which is much better. Around here they charge $40 to install the glass. |
Have you checked with SPF???? Call Hillbank in CA (where SPF is headquartered and also a dealer) or check in at Cobra Valley which is owned by Randall Thomas also a SPF owner and owner of SCOF. He has a plexiglass windscreen that is awesome and won’t crack. If you get a glass windscreen, be super careful in getting it properly installed. If it is not perfect, you will stress the glass just a tiny bit making it very prone to breaking.

I just had mine replaced(the windshield) got the windshield from West Coast Cobras, the glass is the same for all Cobras, the frame might have lots of variations but the glass is the same. The name of the owner is Vern (have patience) and he will answer the phone or an email.
Hope this works Basque1 |
