Ernie is correct. Modern Ford solenoids only have the trigger terminal and not the I terminal( which is a bypass for starting and feeds the coil, not the ignition switch, although it is plumbed into the coil wire leading from the switch). The bypass is uneeded in modern electronic ignitions. It was used in the points set up to allow full voltage to the coil while the starter was cranking. |

If you have a single wire starter (as pictured earlier in this thread), you will need to move your alternator output wire (B+) to the battery side of the starter solenoid. As drawn, the only time the alternator is connected to the battery is when the starter is cranking.
