4.6 Ford Engines
my daily driver is an 09 Grand Marquis with a 4.6L. It is rated at ~210HP. What is the difference in this 4.6 and the ones in the GT Mustangs. They are rated at 300HP and have 3 values per cylinder.
Does the Grand Marquis engine have 2 values per cylinder and less compression? |
Yes. 2V per cylinder and a lot less flow capability. Also different cam, and intake.
I haven't kept up on the newest stuff, but the older 4V engines were aluminum blocks. |
I have a 4.6 4v out of a 03 lincon aviator in a hurricane. from the factory the motor is rated at 320 at the crank
Im running under drive pullys, pretty much straight exaust and a sullivan intake with a carb it just dynoed at 320 at the rear wheels the change in horsepower is determined by intake and cams used Bobby |
Any perfromance mods available for 2V 4.6?
Are there any perfromance mods (like cold air and resetting the chip, etc.) for the 2V 4.6 Mercury engine? I have a chnace to purchase my company car, I want to understand if this 200HP motor can benefit any from some of typical engine mods. Its a nice family car but needs more HP and torque (about 224).
