XENON Headlight conversion kit

Have any of you felt the need to convert to Xenon headlights?

Would like to know if you like the brightness and what supplied did you buy from if you were totally satisfied.

Thanks!

Yes they are brighter and will melt the buckets

Arther they are brighter and will melt the headlamp housings from the heat unless they are made from glass. Charging system need to be good at idle or they will dim. Other problem by be seeing your turn signals at night with these on. %/ Rick L.

First STD Halogens; The Glass H4 carriers by Hella and the 85-130W bulbs with a supporting high amperage relay kit is a very usable and very bright.

My understanding of the xenon (HID) apparatus is that it takes a deeper well /Container than the H4 (7" 2D1) headlight carrier.

So this would require some custom fabrication in fitting in. --they are also very hot which maybe be something that has to be dealt with on their proximity to wiring, vents and the like.

anything that runs that hot is going to have a huge amperage need.

My 2 cents , go with H4 carriers with nice halogens, relay support and be on the road sooner.

If you can find some xenon bulbs to go into the H4 carriers , that might be the way to go.

Here's a prior thread that discusses this...

I get what they did. -- ok, so they have an H4 Style carrier ( the tri-bar case)

http://cat.hella.com/hella232/jsp/se...a@PR@002395801

and they have the H4 style conversion bulbs that have the HIDs inside them.

- with the needed ballasts and such.

With an SPF or a CSX, you might have to check the clearance behind the bulb to the depth of the wipac plastic headlight bucket.

The rear of that bulb looks like 1.5"-2.0" from the rear of the case.
