Carpet install tips?

OK, OK, I know it's much cooler to talk about cams and blowers and gear head stuff but I am a man who is aesthetically impaired and putting in the carpet and interior in this car scares me more than a constipated bear. Everytime I look at all the carpet and vinyl pieces I start shaking like a dog sh*tting peach seeds. Any suggestions or tips are most welcome. Thanks Loads..... Jim:JEKYLHYDE

From an earlier post:

American trim & upholstery supply

Car & truck carpet kits

These kits are universal will fit any car or truck. Carpet kits come with 23 oz. "Foss Megapile"cut pile carpet with heel pad & adhesive. Just cut to fit and glue in place. This carpet is not molded. You do the molding, it is one piece 80" wide by the length (car or truck) that you will glue in place.

Then cut off excess. This carpet has 8 way stretch and will mold over "humps" "bumps," you just force in place with your hands, our kit is about$65.00 cheaper than a (molded carpet). 16 Colors

Stretch Cut Pile Carpet 80" Wide With 8-Way
Stretch That Lets You Make Your Own Moulded Carpets.

No sewing this carpet just glue in place. I used 3M Super90 Adhesive. Worked great for me.

Jim,
When I installed the carpet in my Unique, I first installed "COOL IT Thermo Tec" Aluminized Heat Barrier first. It's real thin and reduces the heat. Put the silver side down. It cuts with utility sissors. I made a template first with newspaper and cut out the Thermo Tec from the pattern. I used 3-M carpet spray adheasive at first but latter found a generic auto parts brand for about $7.00 a can in stead of $13.00. Get some charcoal lighter fuild to clean up any of the spray adheasive that gets on any thing including the carpet itself. The charcoal lighter fluid won't hurt the carpet, fiberglass or your paint.
Good luck, take your time and try not to get too high on the fumes!

"I start shaking like a dog sh*tting peach seeds". Thats the best I have heard in a long time. I'll be sure to use it at the first opportunity.
