Question Moto Lita vs Lecarra

Does anyone know what the differrence between Moto Lit and Lecarra is? I have been told the Moto Lita know owns Lecarra. Are theh products the same. Reason I ask is Tony Branda Advertises a Lecarra sterring wheel but sent a Moto Lita. They claim they are the same co. They charged me 250 for wheel and hub adapter. I just want to be sure I did not get ripped.

As I recall, Moto Lita made the original wheel for Cobras, so I would prefer that over a Le Carra.

Don't know anything about Le Carra, but Moto Lita is OEM equipment for all Cobras. I bought one for my car and never regretted it.

They're hand made by the way, to the exact pattern as the originals. Split ring design with 9 rivets and 16" diameter with dish. Anything else is not correct for the S/C. If you're trying to make your car a faithful reproduction, these are the kind of details that make a lot of difference. Adding real Halibrand pin-drives instead of Trigos is another touch. A real knowledgeable Cobra person will spot the Trigos right away. Valve stems are in the wrong place and the color is wrong. Magnesium doesn't look like aluminum.....especially if you just polish the rim and leave the centers to darken.

If you have a 427 S/C replica, you should get the right center cap for the wheel too. They're hard to find, but the right one is black with a silver ring and silver cobra head. No other colors but silver. Look in my gallery. The picture entitled, "details" shows it.

Since the horn button is on the dash, (correct location) the cap is purely ornamental and fits in the center with a rubber o ring to keep it in place.

Hope this makes you feel better about your purchase.

Al

Moto-Lita is the original Cobra wheel maker. They do not own LeCarra. There is no affiliation between the two. LeCarra makes a copy of the Moto-Lita wheel and even puts the Moto-Lita stamp which is a continuing sore point between Moto-Lita and LeCarra.
