Calabasas Coffee Roasters car show to end?
Today, Sunday morning at the Calabasas get together the shopping center management sent some yoohoo with a couple renta-a-cop body guards to say they want everyone to leave and stop congregating at the shopping center's parking lot. There must have been well over a couple hundred cars there. Seems like it would be good for businesses there selling food or coffee. Most everyone is gone by noon. Why can't they just rope off an area and leave well enough alone. I have no idea how long this event has been happening but it's been over a year atleast. What gives? What a shame if it has to end.

Were people smoking? For those of you who don't know Calabasas is one of those US cities to outlaw public smoking.
It's too bad that they are trying to shut this down. Car guys are usually pretty respectful.

I'm pretty sure it's adjacent to the Calabasas City limits. But not actually in Calabasas. Woodland Hills. It was the shopping center's management Co. trying shut it down, not the City. Sales tax is at stake here.

I would have guessed it was Calabasas (Obviously, I did ). Been there a couple times. It was probably "one" customer complaining. I hope they don't shut it down for good.

A few months ago the strip mall management passed out fliers stating that they were banning the meet and would prosecute those gathering for loitering. Several of the business owners supported the meet and compalined to the management. They liked the early morning business, for those that were open, and those that weren't, liked the visability that their businesses got. All was quiet after that, so we figured it had blown over. My guess is that the anchor store - CVS - had some customer complaints and is pressing the issue.
Too bad. It was a great venue that attracted a wide array of very interesting cars. Not unusual to see a couple of original cobras there as well as some 7-figure cars!
