We had a debate about what should and shouldnt be Olympic sports at work, My own opinion is that we already have too many sports that I feel should not be included as the Olympics has a deeper meaning (in my opinion) than to just have the latest and greatest sport involved.
I think they should drop all the equastrian stuff, are we supposed to be watching athletes or well trained horses?

Gawd thank heavens for that....I was thinking how boring it would have been for you during that time.
Those Chinese ladies do polish up quite well.

Polish what Les? Tell me more
Stuart, where are you going? PM me and I'll give you the lo-down, and let you know what to avoid.
For reference, take the list of things to avoid, change the title to "Things to Do" and you would have Rebel's holiday itinerary

Cameron,
I thought the games were very well presented. The organisation that must have gone into the two ceromonies was sensational and it looked good on television here.
I was in China around 18 months ago and I could see the start of the beautification of the city, the approached from the airport etc.
I'm guessing that they must have planted thousands of mature trees over the last twelve months or so.
The things that I could remember as an eyesore appeared to be removed or covereds up. Whilst I was there, every building had a construction crane on it and it was obvious that these had all been removed.
The Beijing city area was going through a major clean up, with a lot of the old houses streets etc being torn down whilst I was there - guess that this area is all the gardens and new street now..
The television coverage focused on a lot of the history/heritage buildings. I watched a tour one early morning that took the viewer through the Emperors summer palace and lakes gardens, it was a blatant tourism promotion.
It was very well done on their part to promote China to the world. I did hear $46 billion was the cost. Mmmm how much is that a head..

Mate well done with both the limo business and the choice of cars. They look great with those big 22" wheels..
Perhaps a club event coming up..
...How is the Cobra coming on.?

Bernie,
they planted 10 million trees and 40 million flowers for the games.... It's a transformation.
I will be very interesting to see what happens now. will it continue or be forgotten.
And I don't forgive you for not letting me know you were in Beijing...

Cameron,
Sorry I did not realise you were there.
I was in Beijing and then went onto Cxan - spelling - to see the terracota warriors and the region. Then down to Shangia for a week or so. Did all the region there and spent a few nights over the river in the nightclub bar area - the Bound.
Yes will be interesting to see how quickly they re start the industry and the economy now that the eyes are off..
I also spent a lot of time out in the outer ring road area loolking at business there. So may have been very close to you.
Bernie

Hi Bernie,
You can check out the Chryslers at our website:
www.affinitylimo.com.au
It is big difference going from driving a bobcat in the dust and mud to putting on a suit and being a chauffeur!
As far as the Cobra goes, it is coming along well, not as quickly as i would like but getting there nonetheless.
We have a new fabricated front end in place with AP Racing 6 pots on the front, the rear has been converted to outboards with 4 pot AP's on the back. The Konis are all in as is the fuel tank, pumps, swirl pots and lines.
The dash is mounted, as well as the seats and harnesses, the floor mounted pedal box is in along with the reservoirs.
Still waiting for the 8 throttle body fuel injection to be finished but i have the majority of the other go fast parts for the 460.
Hopefully once the injection and motor are done, we wont be too far away from being able to fire it up!
Cant wait!
This Pool Room is a great idea Bernie, should provoke some interesting conversation!
Andy.

It's Xian, but don't worry, unless you live here it's all a bit confusing.
I have been watching the Golden Arches in the city. Interesting challenges but they look to be doing OK. One has opened near us, it's a bit quiet at the moment, but time will tell if the locals catch on, or can afford it!
Cameron
P.S. Bernie - note the sig line... it gives a clue as to my location

Hi Bernie & All,
Just saw your post on CC and thought that I would drop in and see what you have going on. One site that I belong to calls their Chat Room the Water cooler.
Looks good and so far some interesting posts. But don't forget us on CC.
