Smile NASCAR Chase On

Any of you watch the first two races of the chase. They were some of the better races I have seen in quite a while. Johnson made the one yesterday a run away but Montoya is doing quite well and of course Mark Martin in hanging in there so far.

I was surprised by the number of empty seats.

Did any of the Fords run the new engine yesterday?

I'm sure that Joey Logano is sore today. What a crash!!!

Wayne,

I don't believe that any of the Fords had the new engine. This would be a good time to test it though. And yes I agree that Logano is going to be very sore today after a night of rest so the places he hit and had the belts jerk on him have time to show up.

I see that Jack Daniels and Jim Bean are leaving NASCAR at the end of the year.Robby Gordon and one of the childress cars now have to find new sponsors if they can. Petty is going to merge with Yates Racing and they will run Fords. I don't know if it is just me, but the Roush fords just haven't seemed to be very competitive this year. They seem down on power as other cars pull away from them in the straights.

Bob,

Over all I think the Nationwide races are more competitive than the cup races. But even there, whoever gets out in front has a big advantage. The less horsepower lets them drive the cars deeper into the turns and that makes for more passing.

Howdy,

What a freakin' joke NASCAR has become. Looks more like WWE everyday.

Johnson and Martins cars failed post race inspections but NASCAR decided a couple of days later that they were OK.

Yeah, what a joke.

Empty seats? Nascar claims it is due to the economy. Doesn't look like it has hurt Pro Football any.

Dover race had +30,000 empty seats. Cowboys had a record sell out on the same day. Ohio St had +100,000 fans the day before.

Yep, doesn't look like it hurt football, so why so many empty seats? Simple. Most Nascar fans could give a rat's butt about Jimmy Johnson. Boring! He has as much personaility as a dead rat. Boring.

Plus, most tutrue fans believe that Nascar has "controlled" too many of the races so he could win are atlest have a good finish on a bad day. Plus he has been caught cheating several times and most fans believe that Nascar has looked the other way too much.

That's really funny that NASCAR looked the other way for Martin and JJ. I thought that they couldn't get worse than flying the yellow 3 times in a row giving JJ 3 consecutive lucky dog passes a few weeks ago. After the race Krous had the gumption to say that the team really worked hard to get Jimmy back on the lead lap. What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!

NASCAR certainly is becoming more like the WWE all the time as both have their "super stars" who are able to overcome all adversity and win no matter what the odds are against them. The problem is that NASCAR is supposed to be a legitimate racing series while the WWE refers to itself as sports entertainment.

It has become all about Johnson and Gordon, Johnson will win his 4th championship, that will give Gordon 8 yes 8 championships (4 as a driver 4 as a owner)and thats more than anybody else...........Mark Martin wont win a championship till next year...........and next year with the economy the way it is they probably will do away with the GO OR GO HOMERS and only accept 42 entrants.

I have to agree with you completely. NASCAR is just a joke and racing is no longer an important part of it. Anything to make sure that Jimmy Johnson gets that 4th championship in a row. I made the mistake of watching one of the NASCAR shows the other day and all they talked about was what a great job he did coming from 3 laps down and that he was unbeatable in the so called Chase. I can't even remember the show as NASCAR has flooded the market with them. NASCAR Now, NASCAR Tomorrow,. and on and on. I only watch the short track races and even then NASCAR makes sure they have one of their phantom debris cautions if JJ is having trouble If it takes running half of the race under caution to get him up front then they will. Tony steward is 5 times the driver Johnson will ever be and all they talk about is Johnson and then an Oh yes, Stewart is doing well for a first year owner.

Ron, every once in a while I will try to watch one of those NASCAR talk shows on Speed but I end up switching channels after a few minutes. I am amazed that they can go on and on and on, talking about absolutely nothing. I cannot see how even a hard core NASCAR fan can watch this nonsense for hours and hours. The fat guy will go into a very in-depth analysis as to how one driver looks in his mirrors one way while this other driver looks in his mirrors a completely different way (I'm making this up but that is probably the topic for next week). Of course Kenny Wallace will then say something totally outrageous while trying to be serious.

Don't demean Kenny Wallace to much. He has made a great contribution to society. Where do you think they got the Woody Woodpecker Laugh from.

Wayne,

Don't forget the 5 minute explanation that Larry McReynolds gave of how a tire will go flat when it loses the air inside.

Pleaseeeeeee! You guys are taking all this NASCAR stuff way too seriously, it's like the far right attacking the far left.
It's about fun, big money and racing, some races are very good and some are so boring I switch to the news and fall asleep. Who cares if the stands are full, or the quality of TV commentators, or what sponsors are doing.
Lighten up and be happy, have Bud or four,.. and settle back and just enjoy the drone of those high reving motors and hope there will be some good action and a little racing.

I'm going to go fly my NASCAR flag right under my Stars and Stripes, solute and then go clean my guns while I'm watching the race....God I'd like to shoot something..maybe my foot.
Bill

I love the double file restarts. The way it should have been all along. I do think the COT has dulled NASCAR.

During the season you race for points. The chase 10 are all about wins.
