Hello all,
What does Roush do when their sbf engine developes a vibration? No, I haven't contacted them yet. At first this slight vibration was felt at 2200rpms in 5th gear about 55/58 mph. I thought it was chassis related until recently when it happens in all gears at 2200. My installer is still scratching his head. Yes it vibrates in neutral at 0mph too. There is none at 2150 and none at 2250. Anybody experience this anywhere? I received the car/engine trans new in July and now I've got 4600 miles. I guess you can say the vibration is a tad more than new. Cliff

I think if you re read what I wrote, that is exactly what I said. I never mentioned the disc. Pressure plates have been known to crack or throw a weight and cause just this type of vibration.

Ok. We agree. Sorry for any confusion.

When I said clutch, I meant only the clutch plate.

When you said clutch pressure plate, I thought you meant both the clutch plate and the pressure plate.

It would help to know if this is a problem that just started and was not there before, or if this was a new build. I had initially assumed a new build when a suggested the wrong off set balance flywheel/dampener. A problem just starting out of the blue, most likely is something came off or the dampener slipped.

How does it feel at higher rpm's?
2200 is pretty low rpm to be running/pulling in 5th gear.
Not sure about your engine, but mine won't really work below 2500 rpm.
Mine hates trying to pull from 2200, and makes what feels like a vibration. I know everything is balanced to a tee, so maybe it is the cam?

Try a search. I recall a long thread re: same problem in the last year or so. They tore everything apart, and I don't remember if they found the problem.

They found the problem. Pressure plate cracked at one of the bolts.
