eldebrock 650 carb tuning

any pointers?
The idle stays fast (1100rpms) and only drops to 1,000 after warming up!
its a 351 w with a mild at best cam.

I assume you have backed the idle screw out & the carb won't close any further? Or is there another problem? What type of choke are you running? Is it adusted properly?

Sounds like the electric choke is to blame. Make sure the choke is fully open after a few minutes of warm up time.

Yes, either the fast idle screw is still on the choke cam or you have a large vacuum leak.

I once had an Edelbrock on my car and I had the same problem as you. As it turned out my shaft on my butterfly was warped and was causing it to idle fast all the time. Also, I had a problem with the Edelbrock washing down my cylinders after I shut the engine down. I have a Holley now!
