Ford Surge Tank

I am in the process of building a 427w. I bought the small block valve covers, that have the Fe look. I want to try to fit a big block surge tank onto my Ford Racing Victor Jr. intake. Has anybody tried this? What modification do you have to do to make it fit? I know Kirkham and other companies make one that fits, but I don't want to pay the big buck for one.

Surge Tank

I purchased a surge tank from a 1964 full size Ford off ebay for $75 and modified it to fit by cutting off the water tube that runs to the big block intake and purchased another intake water neck so that I could use a 90 degree radiator hose to connect the surge tank to the water neck. Fairly easy to do and looks great.
I think I purchased the water neck from a Club Cobra member - Superhart!

Didn't your SPF install kit COME with a tank? The Windsor based engines are supplies an "FE" style chrome tank with an aluminum spacer to allow fitting to the mainfold.

If not, I have a brand new setup I can supply.
