Header Wedges
 
I read on here once about some header or exhaust wedges used to correct and or change the angle of the sidepipes. Anyone know where I can buy these'?

I would be interested in that kind of info too. My passenger side pipes almost touch the body at the bottom of the exit cutout. A common issue with the CSX's so I'm told. Have had it on my list of things to do for a while, and thought I was looking at a new header to correct it.

ME TOO!!! Where are these wedgies??

FFR has an optional wedge that goes between the header collector and the side pipe to get the angle of the side pipe "just right". That won't help when the headers themselves are touching the body work where they exit the side of the car. If THAT is the wedge of which you speak, then there may not be any header to engine heads wedge made?

The wedges go in between the header collector and the side pipe. They come in certain angles like 3-5 deg and depending on how you rotate them around the collector they will position the pipes up or down or in or out. There was a post on here awhile back. I believe there made out of aluminum and cost about $50.

Thats them, but unfortunately won't fit a BDR setup.

You might want to check with either Dynamic or Olthoff. Both are Superformance shops but I vaguely recall one of them offering these some time ago (for the SPF collector, but it may work with others?).

Craig Aylsworth (SPF authorized installer) may also sell a "tapered shim" for this application.

I have custom made them for specific applications like Craigs set up also. If you have a 4 into 4 flange that can be a helpful part. Michael you don't have a flange obviously yours are slip fits, with your car if it's high on one side and low on the other you can loosen the motor mount nuts and twist the motor to a better position for side pipe alignment effectively splitting the difference between sides.

Thanks Nick. Yes, I know. I was thinking that somebody came up with wedges that go between the actual head and the header flange. But you're right. I have other reasons to try to "rotate" the motor. Mainly the tight clearance between the driver's header bolt and the throttle pivot.

We made them from a template of the SPF exhaust gasket taken to a CNC machine shop. - then we milled the angle as appropriate.

difficult to do mail order.
