Now that I think of it, it you put 302 crank rods and pistons into a 351 with its taller deck, you would end up with about 3:1 compression. This cant be accurate.

Paul F. Several years ago I told a person that and they actually wanted to come see the property. I had to explain it several times that I was just yanking his chain. But for the grace of God. I really liked the guy and kind of felt sorry about it.............
Now, how much are you willing to pay........ along with the engine????

I went to Autozone to get some parts for a 69 mustang with a 351 windsor. They said that only the the 351 cleveland was available in 69. I would have asked them outside to show them but I don't they would know by looking. I used to have a guy at a local NAPA that knew his stuff, but he's retired now. Jim

Plus the low oil pressure from the extra bearing clearance helped gas mileage too.

In regards to the many deiscrepancies that everyone seems to have...I have to say " if the computer says so, it must be". I think George Orwell may have coined that.

I would have guessed about 4 to 1, didn't have time to calculate it out.........You wouldn't need much of a starter to turn that thing over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:LOL:

Especially at Auto Zone, so, when I need a gasket (they usually have all the Fel Pros in stock) for my 331 race moder, I just tell the rocket sciencetist behind the counter I need a part for my 1990 5.0 Mustang, then I get the gasket with no hassles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!**)**)
Ever try assplaning to an idiot what a 331 Stroker is??????, You better not have anything else planned for a while!!!!!!!!!!:CRY:

Actually, if the PEP boys had emigrated from Aussie to the USA they might have been justified in the 302/351 thing since the Aussies created a 302 cleveland from the 351 cleveland with a 3.00" crank & 6.025" rods, but all you guys already knew that didnt you:):)... sounds like the Pep boyz is a lot like the local equivalent, REPCO, an unfortunate moniker when you think about it... rip every poor **** off.:).

Ok, let's make this a package deal
The engine is now equipped with tri-power (3 single barrel carbs)
Current Horsepower - 120
Current barrels - 3
Additional barrels - 9 with the Tri-quads
Power improvement factor - 400%
New power package - 480hp
You can't pass this up!

Well Actually Pep Boys might have it right!
"In the 1980s the 302 became more commonly known as the 5.0 Liter, although its metric displacement (4942 cc) accurately rounds to 4.9 L. It is speculated[who?] that Ford used the "5.0" moniker to distinguish the 302 from the 300 cu in inline Six, which was known as the 4.9. Despite its advertised displacement, Car and Driver referred to the 302 – correctly – as a 4.9 liter engine."
HaHa!
Engine displacement is determined from the bore and stroke of an engine's cylinders. The bore is the diameter of the circular chambers cut into the cylinder block.
\mbox{displacement} = {\pi\over 4} \times \mbox{bore}^2 \times \mbox{stroke} \times \mbox{number of cylinders}
Examples: The 427 Chevy bore is 4.312 in, and the stroke is 3.65 in, therefore the displacement for this 8-cylinder engine is:
3.1416/4 * 4.3122 * 3.65 * 8 = 426.4 CID.
If the bore is 10 cm and the stroke is 5 cm with 4 cylinders, the calculation is:
3.1416/4 * 102 * 5 * 4 = 1570 cm3 ≈ 1.5 liters
Just for you Cashburn!

Like I said, he needs a math forum ... and you too!
