Have a friend that is looking at building a Cobra in the near future. I have recommended that he contact Keith Craft for his engine build, but as of now he has only talked to the guys at Badass cars about building his motor. He probably will check with Keith Craft before making a discission, but as of right now he liked what the guys at Badass have recommended. Anyone know anything about Badass motors and their reputation? Thanks

I met Arron Johnson (owner of Badass Motors) at our October monthly breakfast last Sunday. I was very impressed with his knowledge and his willingness to share his knowledge freely. We had a great time listening to Arron at our table tell us useful bits about motors and funny stories. He has been working on motors from a very young age (he says he was born in a carburetor, but that may be an exaduration ) and seems to have worked on a very wide variety of projects. While I don't have personal experience with his service, I came away feeling Arron was a person I could trust.

Check out his website and also see him in a video on Jay Leno's Garage to get a better idea about who Arron is. http://www.badasscars.com/index.cfm/...rod/prd255.htm

You probably cannot go wrong if he is going to build your friend a small block, based upon some of the stuff that is on his web site. Add in the fact that if he is close to where your friend lives then he would be near by if something goes wrong.

If your friend is looking for a FE then you might want to go with a true expert, like KC. It has been my impression that any good engine builder can master the small block Ford and just about any dummy can build a Chevy (SB or BB).......but there are truly only a few masters at the FE, KC being one of them.

Never heard of Badass Engines until I saw this posting. No shop images, no outside testing, no way to verify anything (thats why I do the Engine Masters deal - independant testing in front of the whole world).

But looking at all the testimonials, memberships, and famous interview videos I can say this - there is a lot of money behind that deal. Could be pretty good just based on that.
