I've set up several of the TWM systems on FE engines using the dyno as a starting point. We used either FAST or Big Stuff 3 modules and laptop computers. The engine dyno can get steady state fuel curves and WOT tuning established using wide band O2 data. But it cannot do transitionals and variable load.

As mentioned - tuning an EFI systeem is best handled on a chassis dyno for establishing part throttle and transitional fuel curves. Second best is getting a knowledgable helper to monitor and adjust things with a laptop in the passenger seat. Thirs best is to take short rides and use the system's data logging capability to record what happened. The make an adjustment and try again.

I have no experience with the latest "self learning" systems. Not really sure if I "believe" in the media hype....

I agree with Barry. I have a TWM setup and it came with a dyno run as the starting point. I had to adjust the fuel map once it was in the car. It wasn't hard to do but it is a two person job.

I went with TWM/FAST do to their individual reputations and ability to work together and adapt to upgrades.

It was pretty simple to hook up in the car. I'm getting in the 20 for MPG with medium to heavy driving.
