Jon Kaase small block windsor
I just got off the phone with Jon Kaase, he told me he would be implementing a small block windsor program to sell motors to the public. He will have his own line of heads that he is dyno testing now, could be interesteing seeing how successful his boss 9 engins are and how many times he won the engine masters challenge. (Program should be ready by Thanksgiving)

I saw the heads when I was at his shop several weeks ago. I think they would be too large for smaller engines, but would work really well on the larger strokers. If they flow what he says they flow (and I have no reason to doubt him), they should make some good upper end power. They are a canted valve head and have dual valve cover patterns.

are these the P-38 heads that I have seen mentioned on his site for a while?

That's interesting because he used to have his own line of SBF cylinder heads that were marketed through Jegs, if memory serves that is. They had all sorts of advertisments about how much power they would make over other heads, then they ran into some sort of supply issue. I don't remember what that was at the time. Anyone else?

Same heads....
Yes, Mark, they're the P-38 heads. Jon is an airplane buff....hence the names....P-51, P-38, etc. |
There are plenty of heads out there to do anything you want with a small Ford. Most of these cars use a wedge style head. The canted valve head will have to have custom headers and all. With the intake may even by to high for a standard hood and scoop.
Nothing new here, there are plenty of nice canted valves heads out there if that is what you want. We are working a new head that will still use standard stud mount rockers. They are a wedge head that you will be about to replace most any wedge head with and still use your stud mount rockers and all. These heads we have worked on with Brodix for about a year now. The intake port will be raised about .200 from standard but you will still use a standard intake manifold but may require spacer on the ends like the Edelbrock Victor heads. They use a 2.125 intake and a 1.58 exhaust valve and flow 355 on the intake at .700 and 250 on the exhaust. This will be the best flowing stud mount rocker head on the market that is the most user friendly. Like I said there are all sorts of Race heads out there for the small block and you can make 1000HP with some of them on motor. It will cost about 35,000.00 but you can do it. The sky is the limit as well as the cost on some of this stuff. Pretty hard to beat a 427 C.I. wedge head small block that makes 600HP on pump gas for less than 12,000.00. Now there are some out there that charge you an extra 2000.00 to 3000.00 for their name on the valve covers. The choice is yours. Good luck, Keith |
