I don't have an MSD. Just the dist that came with the crate engine from ford.
The car has been sitting all night so the engine is cold.
I took a video of the choke before I tried to start the car.

It fired right up but only ran for a few seconds because I forgot to turn the fuel pump on.

I tried starting it again with the fuel pump on without success.
Here is a video of the choke right after the start attempt.

Maybe I need a new electric choke.

It is in the full open position. It has 12v going to it. The negative terminal on the choke is hot to the touch. Is this normal? Also I tried adjusting the choke by rotating it but nothing happened.

Yesterday I spoke to a guy at Ford Motorsports. He thinks I have a vacuum leak in the carb. The carb is 10yrs old so I guess a rebuild is in order. I have a rebuild kit and detailed instructions. The rebuild process looks pretty straight forward so I'm going to give it a try.

There's something wrong with the choke fast idle cam not allowing the choke to close.

If the negative terminal is hot, you have a bad ground.
