Harrison Tank

Anyone familiar with a Harrison Tank? Going to put one on my FFR 65 Coupe and just curious which hoses go where!
Thanks, Randy |
Hose below the cap goes to over flow to ground on the original, recommend going to a catch (expansion over flow) can so you can have a vacuum refill of the system as it cools. 1968 Mustang windshield washer fluid container makes a nice neet overflow container. Tap it in the bottom as the fill and plumb the top as the over flow to the ground. Next fitting on the tank is used as the air bleed for the radiator. Run it to a fitting on the top of the radiator. Botton (large fitting) is the fill. Run the line to the hard line between the radiator and the water pump (lower radiator line).

Thanks

I made a bracket to mount them level on the footbox of a FFR Coupe.

The lower line was meant to be plumbed to a heater return line in the original application of that Harrison tank - the middle line to a top of radiator bleed air tube , and the neck line can be pushed to a recovery system

On my car I ran the lower hose to a fitting I installed on the elbow of the lower radiator hose. I know its not the original way but I could not see a clean way to connect to the heater hose. I also installed an air bleed to the upper radiator hose, the system fills easily and I have had no trouble with any of it.

Rod,
You did it the correct way. Daytona's never had heaters!!!! Bill K |
Mickmate,
If you want to make that tank stand even more correct, and yours looks very much like the original, then drill some holes in the upright side pieces. It has been a while, but it seems like 1 inch on the outsides and then 3/4 inch hole toward the center should be about right. Bill K |
