holley fuel pump debris

tore a holley pump down so i could maybe do a rebuild and find the problem and found a piece of sponge in the outlet side next to the outlet port, which was probably blocking the outlet port and the reason for no fuel. gaskets look good although a little hard now that it has been a few years since it was removed. guess now we are going to have to check the fuel pumps for debris. sponge was still good though.

and now i see their kits include the piece of foam, wonder what it is for? called a rubber pulsator.
