Morel or Howards Mech. Roller Lifters

I am looking to replace the "no name" roller lifters on my sbf 302.

Are ther significant diferences betwin the Morel and Howards "Vertical Bar Mechanical Roller Lifters"?

Any experiences with this products?

We normally use comp Cams or Crower roller lifters on mild to mid race stuff. On the really high end stuff we use Jesel or the up-graded crower stuff. I have used the Morrel stuff before, he has different levels also so you have to make sure you are getting the right one for your application. I have not used the Howard stuff so can not say. Solid roller lifters can run from about 350.00 to 2500.00 depending on what you get. Just let us know if we can help.

I spent one winter calling and talking to every manufacturer I could, after losing two engines because of failed roller lifters. After talking to Crower, I went with them and have not been sorry. I use high spring pressures and have a self imposed 8000 rpm redline, with no problems.

Morel makes a lot of the lifters for other manufacturers, including Howards. They make good parts, and I use them quite a bit.

Morel (the business is actually under another name) is a customer of mine. They make lifters for every manufacturer except OEM and Comp Cams. Some are large customers where they make everything for them, and some are small customers where they may make only a single item.

They have some new Nascar lifters that are pretty wild by normal standards. Anything to get an extra 1 hp out of the engine has been done to the lifters. Believe it or not, there is 1 guy that designs all the lifters they make, writes all the CNC programs, and runs about half the place.

Is this a solid roller or hydraulic roller?

Cobra 53, I have a brand new set of Howards Vertical Bar Mechanical Roller Lifters that I'm selling. Part number 91217. They were installed in the motor but it was never fired. Never even bolted the intake on.

If you or anyone else is interested in them let me know.

Here's a picture of the them.

UPDATE: I just stuck them for sale in the For Sale section.
