7996 Jim, I like your valve covers. Did you buy them somewhere or have them fabricated? Thinking I'd like them with my Webers, better than my "Ford Racing" cast covers.

Hey Karl, Nick Acton has a similar set of valve covers for sale.

The rear tube would connect to a catch tank. Search Results : Acton Custom Enterprises, Custom Metal for Cobras

Thanks Larry, I'm looking for dual filler/vert tubes like 7996 Jim showed. Maybe I'll give Nick a call to see how well he'd like building a set for me.

Webers are highlighted by replica Buddies.
Have two original sets just have not used them yet.

Hey Karl, you could contact Charlie Sullens at Brown's Classic Autos. He and Tony Arme built a set for me from pictures I supplied when they were at Hot Rod's by Dean. Different shop but Tony did the actual fab work on the valve covers. Give him a call and see what he says.

Just as I was about to throw in the towel and hammer some indentations, these covers showed up!

Thanks to all for your input. Very much appreciated.

Now... I need to get these IDFs working as designed. This may be my biggest challenge

Karl, The valve covers I showed started out with a set of NOS early valve covers, that I found, that didn't have any raised areas, baffles or fill tubes, as Shelby often used on early race cars. My dealer, John Cropper, from Cobra Performance Ltd. had his fabricator make them up for me with baffled tubes and triangular supports and then had them power coated for durability. John has all the tubes, supports, caps and decals to make these up. With 5/16 thick gaskets I have no clearance problems with Crower roller rocker arms. I have three excellent condition used unmodified valve covers that could be for sale. I fly out to Shelby next Sunday to see my car for the first time, and my car carrier company picks it up the following week to bring it to PA. Jim

Thanks Jim. I'll see what I can do. I found John's phone number and I'll give him a call. If you'd like to give me a price on a couple of your old covers, please send me an eMail or a PM. Thanks, kbebout@yahoo.com

Why don't you grind the end of the rod down ...drill a hole through it and then, a washer, and split pin.........problem solved ......a little light grease there too....

That would work if his tuning is already correct.

The factory adjustment nut is for total fuel volume throughout throttle travel.

The owners real problem is, that he needs to have this style of IDF:
