+1 David,
I see 240-250 in my car fairly regularly. I have had my car for almost 10 years and 20,000 miles. I had to have my engine rebuilt a couple years ago, because a buddy missed a shift and broke a piston! Doh:CRY:
When they disassembled the engine there was virtually no wear to anything, except the one piston broke on the second land. Thankfully I have Lentz rods and other great stuff in my motor, so the damage was minimal.
Bottom line, when it comes to oil temp I truly believe not enough temp is way worse than high temps.

Conventional motor oil is good to about 250 degrees before it breaks down due to excessive heat,it can withstand short burst at that temp.....

Synthetic oil is good for 300 degrees, for some unkown reason my race engine always ran high oil temps and over the years I tried 4 different oil coolers with little to no difference in them.......

On road courses with my street car, I'd see oil temp in the 220 to 230 range, one cool down lap and it was down to 190 to 200 and that is without an oil cooler...

David
