289 worth to buy?!?

Dear all, it may sound a stupid question to most of you but I would appreciate some help.
I have the chance to buy a '65 289 engine.
I would need to travel a bit so I am looking for expert advice before moving...
These are the casted numbers
Gm19 C5AE - 6015E.
It was on a 67 mustang, but seller is not sure it was the original motor.
Which engine is this? is it possible to know the original performances?
The engine needs some work but is sold as running. Which could be a resonable price in Europe?

Thanks
Ale
