402 at the wheels would be somewhere over 500 hp at the flywheel. That would be quite an accomplishment with only 302-306 cid NA. It may be a true reading it may be off a bit. Don't get too wrapped up in the number and focus on the improvement when using a like for like comparison.

This important question is "given your high altitude driving, how strong does it feel to you now?" Is this enough or do you want more? You could add 25-30% more with a mild 4-5 psi boost on a future project, now that you have a good foundation to build on.

The hp feels like more of a 100hp gain. Even at the altitude I'm at it's a good gain. Keep in mind that 402 hp number is corrected sea level. So if it's a true 20% loss at my altitude, then what I'm feeling for rear wheel number feels about right for a little 302. The power is great, however like the rest of you, I can always use more. I think I'm missing it on the big end still. Don't get me wrong I had the biggest smile picking it up and driving it, and still do every time I get in the driver seat, but from 3rd gear on I still want more power. Which is why I think the next move will be adding the supercharger on a small boost setup to give me more on the top. As you stated the power plant is now established for it. My tuner nailed the current setup, to the point that a few of the guys I know said you would never know its not fuel injected even at maintence throttle. So I think going to a forced induction setup will be easy when I am ready to make that move.

1st and 2nd the car is squirrely with the new power plant, but totally manageable. Car is fun and if you ask me if I would do this again , I would for the budget I had.
