Ford Racing 393 Crate Engine

Happy new year to the Club!
I am wondering if anybody have some information about or owning such an engine. I did not find an engine with this displacement on the Ford Racing Homepage. The only thing i know that the engine is called so.
Any thoughts, pros/cons?
Thank you very much (and sorry for my english, not my mother tongue).
Regards,
Ronald

Are you thinking about the Ford 392 crate motor?

I don't have the Ford Racing piece, but I built a 392 stroker using some Ford Racing parts and other pieces I picked up along the way. I'm sure of one thing, you won't lack for power....

Ford Racing no longer offers the 392 series crate engines however they are very good items. We have many customers who have used them with high satisfaction levels. For whatever reason Ford Racing has discontinued the 392s and gone to the 427 series. I assume just for the magic "427" nomenclature.

If you're so inclined, the 392 is one of the easiest strokers to build and the parts are readily available. Other than the stroker crank, you can use off the shelf parts or existing 351W parts for the build- 302 pistons, 351W rods (stock work fine), standard ring sets to match the pistons, and everything else matches up to the block- cam, heads, etc.... I built mine this way and I think I only have $3500 in it including hot tank, machining, and all the parts I bought new and it is a great engine and more horsepower than I need for now.

Great motor in my opinion. I purchased my 06' Ford Racing built 392 recently and it exceeds the numbers advertised. Tons of torque and performs great as a street engine. Just don't plan on putting a WC T5 behind it, ask me how I know.

Gentlemen, thank you very much for your feedback. If it is 392, no wonder that i didn't find a lot of information with my search... :)
