upgrading Ford GT aluminum heads
I just read a magazine article that claimed swapping the Ford aluminum GT heads out for a pair of Air Flow Research 185cc heads on an otherwise unmodified SVO 392 crate added 75hp and mucho torque across a very broad rpm range (1500-6500 I think). Is anyone running Air flow, Edelbrock, Trick Flow, or ? heads on their SVO 392s with the original roller cam? Comments, thoughts, advice?

There are plenty of guys running AFR heads on this board. I'm pretty sure they will advise you well. But I also recommend you type in AFR in the search page or under user name type in andy dunn.

I have a set of the smaller AFR 165 heads on a 289 and they are great! The 289 pushes a 63 Galaxie very well!

I am famillar with that article - its a good one. Just remember that the pistons have to be notched to accomdate that head. Also, the head used in the 75 hp increase article had been milled. I do not remeber if they could run that combo on pump gas. This info may be in the AFR link posted above. I did not check.
