I to have been thinking of doing the same. Although, I have the FMS 392 crate engine. I've spoken to the Edelbrock tech department just as they were introducing the FI for the 351w. They told me that it comes as a complete system. (e.g. It comes with a MSD distributer, fuel pump, fuel return lines, everything) They even sent me the manual and installation instructions. Very informative.

I think the only reason that a lot of guys haven't thought about this FI. Is that they've never heard of it or that it doesn't have the individual stacks look of the webbers or hillibrands.

If I had it to do over, that's what I'd go with, mainly for fitment issues. I've had to do quite a few mods to get my 351W with a Trick Flow intake to fit under the hood. When I started building my Cobra, Edelbrock hadn't come out with the system for the 351 yet.

Be careful and talk to the techs first! I talked to them and they mentioned that if your gonna push more then 475hp you better upgrade the injectors. Also when you do this they mentioned that it is a pain to tune at idle. The Injecter jump is huge.

"The stock injectors are good for about 465HP possibly 480. If you want to make more HP then a larger injector would be necessary and our next unit is a 44lb/hr size which is very large
at idle."
"The 44lb/hr injector is very large and it will be very hard to keep the engine from becoming to rich. Try to keep the total HP to no more than 475 "

This is off an email from their tech.

What??!!

"Try to keep the total HP to no more than 475 "

Are they KIDDING??!!

(now if you keep that testosterone level down, son, you'll play better with others and your, ahem, injector won't get worn out)

Right....

So their system only works well with one size injector? So much for tunability, you have to de-tune your motor so the fuel system will work with it. Why can't you just keep the injector open for a shorter time to compensate for the increased orafice.

If you click on the pic that comes of from the link you will see the control module. You don't need a laptop....kind of cool. I was talking to them because i wanted to use their system with a supercharger. That is why the 44lbs injectors came up. I have tossed out that idea for now. I would get it but the cost is going to kill my budget. Email and call them yourself. What hp range are you looking at?

Try this out: http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...PFI/MPFIS.html

BiB is using this system on his West Coast I think.

Don't forget, with that price you get everything including maniforld. And that price isn't bad, when you compare it with the other FI's on the market.(5 to $7,000).
