I know this subject MUST have come up before,but does anybody have a better way to mount a set of Trigo wheels?I'm using the alignment tool but I gotta be doing something wrong to have spent almost all day trying to get one wheel aligned right.This shouldn't be this tuff.

Man I just went through that.. yesterday.. I got done with one and it didn't clear the fender, the offset was wrong..

I will tell you the wheel must go on perfectly in line with those pins.. PERFECTLY STRAIGHT.. Even then I found I really needed to wack it as evenly as possible to get it to go on.. I would make sure it was lined up, wack the top at the 10 and 2 position, both hands open fist.. Then at 8 and 4.. same thing HARD.. I finally got it started so I could use the spinner..

You might check the pin holes at this point. I found that a small amount of material was being moved around when I had tried to start the wheel on while it was not perfectly straight and I cleaned it out with a Dremel.. LIGHTLY remove and material you can feel doesn't belong, be it a burr or a ridge..

Needeless to say I am devastated mine don't fit.. Trigo will do nothing for me despite assuring me they fit EVERY Contemporary.. They don't if you have a Type 1 rear end (e-type)

OK one more time with the Trigo Wheels

Ok,spent a couple more hours trying to get this wheel on,great design and I know the problem is in the studs.They are hardend allen heads and maybe thats why they won't bend into line with the alignment tool.So now I'm gonna try to replace them with regular old studs.This shouldn't be this hard.......

Showed the Trigo set up to my engine builder,first thing out of their mouths was "Whats the big deal,this is easy".I said OK you try to make it work.Hour later they sent for machinist to look at this assembly.He said,"Wow this shouldn't be this hard".Well maybe he can figure out why everyone struggles to get these pin to line up.

I believe that Trigo makes a pin alignment tool/template. I would give them a call.

Mounting Trigo Wheels

I don't have the Trigo wheels, but I do have Compomotive pin drives. They use the same adapter plates that Trigo uses. When first attempting to mount my wheels I discovered that the threads in the locating pins were not drilled concentrically. I went thru four sets of pins until I was finally able to mount the wheels. Even then I had to draw them on with the spinner. The rears Go on rather easy but the fronts are really tight. To see if your studs are drilled concentrically, thread them on slowly and watch for any side to side movement. If there is ,then they are not threaded on center. I hope this helps.
